A local ambulance volunteer of almost 60 years has been recognised with a Warwickshire ChangeMaker Award for her contribution to communities across the county.

Viv Moore OStJ, Youth Lead for North and East Warwickshire at St John Ambulance , was named a Warwickshire ChangeMaker 2026 by the High Sheriff of Warwickshire. The award recognises individuals who have made significant and lasting contributions to their local communities.

Moore has volunteered with St John Ambulance for almost 60 years and has held a number of leadership roles, including County Commissioner Youth and District Youth Lead. In her current role, she supports youth programmes across North and East Warwickshire.

Speaking about receiving the award, she shared: "I was truly honoured to receive the ChangeMaker award in recognition of all the work done with St John Ambulance. It showed me how appreciated it all is."

Over the course of her service, she has contributed to the development of young people through St John Ambulance's cadet and badger programmes and has been involved in first aid education, community training and event support as an Emergency Responder. She has also funded a publicly accessible defibrillator for her local area.

Recipients of the Warwickshire ChangeMaker Award were recognised at an event held at Warwick Castle, celebrating individuals whose work has contributed to the wellbeing and resilience of communities across the county.

Nic Old, Network Lead for North and East Warwickshire, said "Viv is an inspiration to the whole team, nothing is ever too much trouble and Viv always goes the extra mile to ensure people are cared for and tasks are achieved, especially when it comes to our cadets and badgers."
