Weekend market in Warwick cancelled due to weather
Warwick's weekly market on Saturday (December 7) has been cancelled due to the weather.
The Met Office has issued a yellow weather warning for the coming days due to forecast high winds.
A final decision on Leamington's Christmas Market on Sunday will be made this afternoon (December 6).
Market organiser CJ's Events Warwickshire said: "Due to Storm Darragh bringing gusty winds of up to 60mph on Saturday, we’ve unfortunately had to cancel our Warwick and Rugby Markets. Additionally, the Kenilworth Christmas Market has been postponed to Saturday, 14 December.
"Safety remains our top priority, and setting up stalls in such conditions would pose a significant risk to our team, traders, and the general public.
"While the markets won’t go ahead, it’s Small Business Saturday, and we encourage everyone to visit the towns and support the fantastic local independent businesses. As an added incentive, free parking is available in all Warwick District Council car parks.
"The weather forecast for Sunday shows some improvement, but conditions remain unpredictable. A final decision on the Leamington Christmas Market will be made today, Friday 6 December, at 3pm, and we will communicate this as soon as possible.
"We appreciate your understanding and flexibility as we navigate these challenges. Thank you for your continued support, and let’s work together to make the best of the weekend despite the weather."
