Oakley Grange Care Home is "delighted to announce" the launch of its Dementia Cinema Club, a new community initiative designed to create a "safe, social, and supportive space" for people living with dementia and their carers.

The club will run twice a month, on the first and third Monday, from 2pm to 4pm, offering dementia-friendly film screenings in Oakley Grange’s "beautifully designed" cinema room.

Recognising the importance of meaningful, inclusive activities for those living with dementia, the club provides an opportunity for families and carers to enjoy films together in a relaxed and welcoming environment.

Screenings are adapted to be dementia-friendly, ensuring that everyone can participate comfortably at the Cox Gardens site.

Alongside the films, light refreshments will be provided, and guests will have the chance to meet other carers and families, share experiences, and build connections.

Olivia Cameron, Home Admissions Advisor at Oakley Grange, said: “We know how valuable it is for people living with dementia and their carers to enjoy activities that are both social and supportive.

"Our Dementia Cinema Club aims to bring people together, offer a sense of community, and create enjoyable moments for everyone involved.”

Spaces for the Dementia Cinema Club are limited and booking is essential.

To secure a place, please contact Olivia on 01926 953 821 or email [email protected].

Oakley Grange opened for the first time in July 2024, with its 66 fully furnished rooms and five deluxe care suites.

Oakley Grange also offers respite care, allowing loved ones some much-deserved time to themselves, but also potentially serving as a first step into full time care.
