The Proclamation of the Accession of King Charles III will be read by the Lord Lieutenant of Warwickshire in Market Square today
The Proclamation of the Accession of King Charles III will be read by the Lord Lieutenant of Warwickshire in Market Square today

A public reading of the Proclamation of the Accession of King Charles III will take place today (11 September) in Warwick.

The proclamation will be read by the Lord Lieutenant of Warwickshire in Market Square from 1pm and will be followed by refreshments in Shire Hall.

There will also be an Accession Service for King Charles III at St Mary's Church at 2.30pm.

The event is open at all.

A book of condolence following the death of Queen Elizabeth II is also available to be signed at Shire Hall.

Anyone wishing to lay floral tributes are asked to place flowers or plants outside Shire Hall in Warwick.

Market Square will be closed to all vehicular traffic until Wednesday 21 September 2022 to allow residents to lay flowers and pay their respects to Her Majesty The Queen

Buckingham Palace has opened an online Book of Condolence, which you can sign at The Royal Family website.
