Road closures announced for Warwick Town Races
The centre of Warwick is set to be transformed into a 900-metre racing circuit this weekend (Sunday, May 14) for the return of the Warwick Town Races.
Organised by Warwick Lanterne Rouge, the event will see hundreds of cyclists take to the town's streets throughout the day.
The day will get underway at 9.30am with the Dough & Brew Community Ride, followed by a series of races from juniors to adults.
Racing will culminate in the men's elite race which will start at 3pm and last an hour.
The event is also being sponsored by the Cycling GK.
Organisers said: "Warwick will be transformed into a spectator-friendly fully-barriered racing circuit from 9am on Sunday 14 May.
"The Market Square will have an incredible atmosphere and host the Event HQ, Registration desk, Podium, Coffee Wagon, music, and commentary taking you through the racing as it plays out.
"The 900-metre course around the town will provide all riders with an exciting challenge on this technical and fast circuit which will encourage frenetic and thrilling racing all day long.
"There will be many spectators during the day giving us a fabulous atmosphere throughout the town centre.
"We encourage any spectators coming into Warwick to travel into town by public transport, by foot or bike."
