Road closure details announced for Warwick Mop Fair 2025

Road closure details have been announced as Warwick Mop Fair returns for 2025.

The annual event, which is said to date back to the reign of Edward III, is hosted on the Friday and Saturday following the 12 of October, with the 'Runaway Mop' held the following weekend.

Run on October 17, 18 and 24, 25 this year the fair will take over Market Place and the rest of the town centre as stalls and a fun fair descend on the town.

Warwick District Council has confirmed road closures will be in place from 4.45pm on Thursday 16 October to 11.59am on Sunday 19 October, then again from 4.45pm on Thursday 23 October to 111.59am on Sunday 26 October (for the Runaway Mop).

The following roads will be closed during those times:

  • Brook Street
  • Market Place
  • Market Street – except for egress from the bus station and car park
  • New Bridge
  • New Street
  • Old Square
  • Puckering's Lane – except for egress to the bus station and car park
  • Swan Street
  • The Holloway

Hampton Road car park will be closed to all vehicles including camper vans from 7am on Sunday 12 October to 12pm on Sunday 26 October 2025.

Permit holders will be able to park in near by Bread and Meat Close car park and also Vittle Close car park.

New Street car park will be closed from 4.45pm on Thursday 16 October to 11.59am on Sunday 19 October, then again from 4.45pm on Thursday 23 October to 11.59am on Sunday 26 October (for the Runaway Mop).
