Growing numbers of runners are joining weekly 5K run events hosted by The Black Pug in Warwick and The Royal Pug Leamington as the club's popularity continues to rise.

The free, weekly run begins and ends at local pub, The Pug, welcoming runners of all abilities from across the area.

The Leamington run became so popular the club was expanded into Warwick as well.

Alongside the 5K, participants also have the choice to stay for a social drink afterwards, helping to create a strong sense of community among members.

The route takes runners through popular local spots like St Nicholas Park in Warwick and Leamington's Jephson Gardens.

Tom Smith, founder of the Warwick Pug Run, said: "It made me realise how many like minded people there are who enjoy not just running, but the social side that comes with it."

He added: "The Running Pug gives people more than a weekly run - it gives them a reason to meet new people, make friends, and be social in a relaxed environment."

With the Leamington Half Marathon approaching on June 7, the growing popularity of running clubs doesn't look to be slowing down.
