Teenagers have been caught walking on a frozen pond in Warwick just a day after three children died after falling into the water at Babbs Mill Lake, in Kinghurst.

Warwickshire Police were called to unnamed park in Warwick yesterday (December 12) where secondary school children were walking on the ice.

A force spokesperson said: "Yesterday – only 24 hours after three children tragically lost their lives at Babbs Mill Park in Solihull – we had to rush out to stop a group of secondary-school-age children from walking over a frozen pond in Warwick.

"In this instance, we attended and issued a few words of advice. It could easily have been a very different callout.

"Parents of school-age children – if you have not done already, please talk to them this evening about the dangers of attempting to walk over frozen water."
