Plans to upgrade Warwick industrial building given green light
Council planners have given the green light to demolish and rebuild part of a Warwick industrial building.
Warwick District Council has granted planning permission for the works at unit 5a on Budbrooke Industrial Estate.
The scheme will see the single-storey rear part of the building demolished and replaced with a new extension.
The building has been used for manufacturing for many decades, most recently by a jewellery manufacturer until 2019 (Niagara Falls Plating Company Ltd), and has been used for car storage since 2020.
The replacement building will be 9.4 metres tall.
It will be divided into six bays with roller shutter doors before each.
"This will enable the unit to be used more flexibly than existing," the application said.
The new unit will also be slightly taller, allowing larger vehicles and fork lift trucks to access the building.
Signing off on the plans, a council report said: "The proposal for the extension and alteration of this industrial building are considered acceptable in design terms and do not have a negative impact on any neighbouring amenity.
"The proposal is also considered to have acceptable levels of parking provision.
"Further, subject to conditions, officers have no objection to the scheme from a biodiversity or flooding perspective."
