Plans to install six more electric vehicle chargers at a Warwick McDonalds have been revealed.

Public charging network InstaVolt has applied to turn existing parking spaces into rapid EV charging stations, at the Stratford Road restaurant.

The company already has four chargers at the site on the edge of town.

Plans submitted to Warwick District Council said: "InstaVolt are proposing to install an additional six rapid electric vehicle charging stations within the car park of McDonalds.

"Seven existing parking spaces will become EV charging bays, along with associated equipment.

"One of the six EV charging bays will be fully accessible, allowing for unrestricted access to one EV charger with 1.2m access on four sides of the parking bay.

"Two existing parking bays will be used to site the substation.

"The existing feeder pillar to be removed and replaced with an updated kiosk to house metering equipment for additional chargers on site."

Hampshire-based InstaVolt says it uses electricity from renewable energy sources, including solar and wind farms, for its chargers.

The has firm announced it activated a record 80 rapid chargers throughout the UK during the course of March this year.
