Plans to build a new two-storey teaching block at Myton School look set to be given the green light by Warwick District Council next week.
If approved the scheme will see a new block with 12 classrooms, offices, study space and a cafe built which will allow the school to take on an extra 190 pupils
Two temporary huts would also be demolished and turned into parking spaces.
Warwickshire County Council has also agreed to fund the £6million project which will also be used to house Oakley Grove School pupils until their own classrooms are built - the 'bizarre' announcement of which by Cllr Jan Matecki was criticised by parents.
And despite more than 25 objections being made to the scheme - including one from Warwick Town Council - officers have recommended that permission be granted at next week's WDC planning committee meeting.
"The proposed development of a new teaching block on an allocated major education site within the Local Plan is considered to be acceptable in principle," a council report said.
"It would have an acceptable impact on neighbouring amenity, highway safety, air quality, trees, drainage, ecology and the character of the area."
Myton School said it hopes to have the build completed for September 2023.
But residents have raised concerns about the lack of parking and the impact on local roads.
Some neighbours have also objected saying that the new building will affect their privacy and that there was not enough engagement with local people before the plans were submitted.
And an objection comment from Warwick Town Council said: "Whilst accepting the need for improvement of the facilities of the school, we consider that, given the local disturbance already generated by the school and the uncertain calculation and reasoning of the forecast future of the daily numbers in occupation at the school, under Section 12 of the NPPF, this development does not positively contribute towards making places better for people in that it fails to take opportunities for improving character, the quality of the area and the way it functions."
Meanwhile Green Party members at Warwickshire County Council have raised concerns that the new block will not be built to a high enough standard.
Warwick District Council's planning committee will discuss the planning application on Tuesday, July 19.
