Plans for two new houses at village crossroads revealed
Two more homes could be built behind an existing house in Shrewley if plans are signed off by Warwick District Council.
A planning application has been submitted for a number of outbuildings at Crossways on Old Warwick Road to be flattened to make way for the extra houses.
If approved, the scheme would see one three-bedroom and one four-bedroom home built, with a shared double garage.
Plans state the detached buildings would be 1.5 storeys " in order to minimise the visual impact" and "provide a transition" from the neighbouring two-storey homes.
"The application site can easily accommodate the proposed development which would make efficient use of the land available, and the size, scale and layout of the proposed dwellings would be in keeping with those in the surrounding area," the application said.
"The proposed development can also ensure that the amenity of the occupiers of the proposed dwellings and of the occupiers of the existing dwellings surrounding the site, can all be protected."
The application is at this stage for outline planning permission, meaning detailed designs for the homes would need to be approved separately if the scheme is given the green light.
It added: "The proposal would be in keeping with the form and pattern of the existing development in the area, which is comprised of a varied mix of dwellings, including several buildings set back from the road, including the host dwelling and those immediately adjacent to the site, which do not front onto the highway but are set back or orientated sideways on."
Two notices of objection and two of support have already been submitted to the plans.
