Yet another planning application has been submitted for a controversial poultry farm in Norton Lindsey - but this time for houses.

The farm at Warwick Hill was at the centre of a five-year planning battle to have two new chicken sheds built which it ultimately won last year.

And now the owner - who has had the site since 1970 - has applied for planning permission for six new homes at the Warwick Road site.

Plans state the scheme would see the current road access closed and a new one created.

Details of the houses have not been revealed, and a second 'reserved matters' application would have to be submitted before they could be built.

"As an outline planning application, the type, design and size of houses is not known at this stage," the application stated.

"Even so, it is proposed that all six houses will be open-market and their size will be constrained by the narrow width of the site."

Plans stated at its peak the farm was rearing 216,000 broilers per year. The two new sheds the farm was eventually given planning permission for in 2023 would allow it to raise 47,000 pullets per year.

If approved, the six houses would be built where the previous poultry houses were.

The homes would also have a cycle access off Warwick Road.

Two previous applications for homes in 2016 (nine homes and two chicken sheds) and 2017 (two homes and two sheds) were refused.
