Plans for 16 new 'small starter commercial' units in Warwick revealed
Sixteen new industrial units could be built on the edge of Warwick if new plans are signed off by council planners.
Warwickshire Property Development Ltd has applied for planning permission for the new build business units off Fusiliers Way.
A planning application submitted to Warwick District Council showed five blocks of units would be built, split across five blocks.
The application said there is a need for these "small starter commercial units" locally.
"The scheme is intended to provide a size and scale of business units to meet the identifiable market needs, which will support the retention of small scale businesses and encourage business growth within the locality," it explained.
"This will drive innovation and support wider supply chain and economic objectives which are important in offering a diversity and mix of uses."
If approved, 116 parking spaces would also be included on the site next to Warwick Technology Park.
The site is part of a larger area of former agricultural land allocated for new homes, a secondary school, primary school, a local centre and community stadium.
"A design led approach has been taken to the built form on site," the application continued.
"The proposed development aims to deliver a contemporary design with the continuation of the material palette of smooth cladding panels employed at the adjoining BMW dealership.
"An overall design that seeks to integrate as far as possible within the surrounding context and to bring a sense of character."
