Overnight road closures have been announced for the Asps housing estate in Warwick this week.

Banbury Road will be shut each night between 8pm and 6am from Monday 1 December to Saturday 6 December.

The street will be shut from the Greys Mallory Roundabout junction at the junction with Barford Road and at the entrance (Brooklime Road) to The Asps development.

Warwickshire County Council also said there will be times when vehicle access to the development will not be possible.

This will be when the road is planed out to a depth of 40mm when binder and when surface material has been laid and is cooling.

Cllr Jennifer Warren, portfolio holder for transport and planning, said: "We have said throughout this work that we will communicate with residents and local businesses.

"We trust that they will feel informed and supported throughout the necessary road closures.

"These are essential so that the work can be carried out safely and once again, we thank all road users for their patience."

Work is well underway on the 900 homes, primary school and park and ride at The Asps, with the local authority already starting extensive roadworks in the area.

A new planning application has also been submitted for the design of the junction.
