Organisers apply for alcohol licence ahead of new Warwick music festival

An application for an alcohol licence has been submitted to Warwick District Council (WDC) ahead of a new music festival heading to the town this summer.
The Stranglers, Elbow and Train have already been announced as headlines for The Warwick Sessions 2025 which will head to St Nicholas Park this July.
Part of the town centre park is set to be transformed for the event this summer with thousands heading to town from Friday 4 July 2025 to Sunday 6.
Tickets went on sale last autumn, and now organiser AEG Presents has applied for an alcohol licence from WDC.
If approved, the licence will allow the event to serve alcohol from 5pm to 10.15pm on the Friday, from 3pm to 10.15pm on the Saturday and from 3pm until 9.45pm on the Sunday.
The licence will also cover the playing of live and recorded music as well as showing films outdoors.
Locals can have their say on the application until April 14.

For the promoter, Chloe Pean and Rachel Lloyd said last year: "AEG Presents is delighted to announce 'The Warwick Sessions' for summer 2025 following the success of The Castle Sessions.
"St Nicholas Park is a unique setting in a town with a great appetite for live music.
"We're excited to bring the biggest acts from elbow, The Stranglers, and now Train, with more great names still to be announced."
Cllr Ella Billiald, portfolio holder for arts & economy at Warwick District Council said: "We are very excited to be welcoming these big name artists to Warwick in the wonderful backdrop of St Nicholas Park.
"We do hope that these concerts will attract lots of new visitors to our beautiful town, benefitting our local hospitality businesses and retail."
