Opera is set to come to Warwick's Playbox theatre for one night only this June.

Courtesy of the Royal Birmingham Conservatoire, the double-bill will feature Marc-Antoine Charpentier's baroque classic Les Arts Florissants followed by Jacques Offenbach's one act comedy Mesdames de la Halle.

The works have been adapted, produced and directed by Stuart Barker and will be conducted by Fraser Goulding and Jeffrey Skidmore who is well-known for his work with Ex Cathedra.

The night will also feature an optional pre-show talk at 6.30pm on Charpentier and Les arts florissants by Prof Graham Sadler and Dr Shirley Thompson of the Royal Birmingham Conservatoire.

The lecture is free and followed by a glass of French wine.

The rest of the night will start at 7.30pm on June 26 and tickets cost £20.

They can be booked online here.
