Number of passengers using Warwick's railway stations revealed
Warwick remains the fifth-most visited station in the county, according to recent data.
A report published by Steer on behalf of Office of Road and Rail saw a huge jump in travellers across the UK, despite strikes impacting services across the nation.
The study analysed ticket sales during the 12 months between the start of April 2023 and the end of March 2024, and then compared this to the same dates a year earlier.
There were 16 per cent more journeys across the country, the study showed, with 1,610 million journeys made - compared to 1,385 million the year before.
According the report there were 515,648 entries and exits at Warwick Railway Station in 2023-24 - compared to 481,684 the year before.
Meanwhile at Warwick Parkway, there were 443,376 visitors, up from the 377,132 the year before and 270,714 the year before that.
As with last year, Leamington Spa was the most used station in Warwickshire with 2,181,166 entries and exits.
Only Rugby (1,913,342) came close to this.
The list, which included 24 stations across Warwickshire, was propped up by Polesworth in North Warwickshire, which was apparently only used 118 times.
Meanwhile in the south of the county, Bearly had the fewest visitors, at 1,766
