New wayfinding signs installed around Warwick

New wayfinding signs have been installed around Warwick thanks to a town council project.
Warwick Town Council was last year given planning permission for the designs and locations for 31 new signs to help make Warwick a "world class place in which to live, work and visit".
The application said the signs will make a "comprehensive pedestrian wayfinding strategy and signage design scheme".

Permission was given for a series of new information boards, signs and updated finger posts, with many of the latter now in place.
Warwick Town Council announced in February work was beginning on the project.
"We're excited to confirm installation works have started for Warwick Town Centre's Wayfinding Project," a statement on social media said.
"New finger posts have been installed in Warwick to enhance visitors experience by improving navigation in our town centre."
The original application to Warwick District Council said the signs will help encourage visitors to wander and explore Warwick.
"Design influences from the mediaeval period combined with the strong historic and visual references of the architecture, castle and gardens underpin the overarching concept," the application said.
"The design proposes to use sympathetic yet robust materials and finishes, developing a sensitive design that responds to the historical context of Warwick.

"Key design features include visual reference to bronze and exposed fixing details that feature in structures around town.
"The typeface proposed has been selected from historical research and past references found within the town.
"The typeface respects the heritage of the town whilst simultaneously moving into a contemporary discourse."
