There were queues out the door today (July 21) as locals headed to the new KFC at Leamington Shopping Park.

Now officially open, the new fast food outlet also had motorists queuing round the block to use the new drive thru.

After months of work on site KFC has opened its doors with the company making little fanfare after previously hinting it would open "this summer".

Confirmation the two fast food chains and Five Guys would be coming to Tachbrook Park Drive came last year when planning permission was granted for the project, which also saw the former Brankie & Benny's unit demolished.

Five Guys has said little since, but has recently advertised for staff and an assistant manager role for the site.

The company has installed its decals in the window of the unit but it remains unopened.
