The new coffee shop at Warwick Parkway Station has officially opened, after weeks of work getting the unit into shape.

The latest venture from Caffe Ideas, Espresso Station officially opened last week, taking over from previous tenant Morning Sunshine.

Run by husband and wife team Susan and Simon Knight, the brand has nearly two decades of experience running coffee shops, and has well established bases at Birmingham Moor Street and Dorridge Stations.

And when offered the chance by Chiltern Railways to take on a third station kiosk, Susan said she leapt at the opportunity.

"We started in 2007 at Moor Street, so we have already got a good affiliation with Chiltern Railways," the mother-of-three told Nub News.

"Then in 2016 we took on Espresso Dorridge.

"Chiltern got in touch with us not long ago to see if we would like to take on the lease at Warwick Parkway and we jumped at it!

"It makes it really nice that we have three spots along the line."

Having received the keys in May, work has progressed quickly to get the new coffee shop ready, with it opening for the first time on July 1.

As well as a strong focus on top quality coffee, Espresso Station will also offer a range of hot and cold food, smoothies and more.

"We are going to bring in a similar menu [to Dorridge] with a few tweaks," Susan explained.

"It will be grab and go, hot and cold food including breakfast ciabattas and a lunchtime menu.

"I really hope we can offer a great service to the local community.

"People in Hampton Magna and the dog walkers come down there as well as the railway passengers, which is great.

"We are just really looking excited to be getting started."

As well as running the three station outlets, Caffe Ideas also has two destination coffee shops - Espresso Barn in Long Marston and Espresso Farm in Tanworth in Arden.

This as well as having three very successful kiosks at Aston Villa Football Club.

"Our selling point is our coffee, we love our coffee," Susan said.

"We lived in Sydney for a while and our love of coffee started there really.

"When we came back to the UK we couldn't find a decent cup, which is when Simon and I went to a local supplier in Birmingham who helped us design our own mobile coffee cart which we started running in Solihull.

"Simon stood there for six months, selling our coffee until we got a lucky break with Aston Villa Football Club, who asked us to come along on match days and events!

"It took off from there and we are still at Villa Park, inside, selling our artisan coffee and supporters love it."

With so many established premises already, and another on the way, Susan was quick to thank the team for the business' success.

"I am very humbled," she said.

"I see it more as a lifestyle and it has organically grown.

"Lots of people ask how it has happened and the truth is hard work and passion.

"We both enjoy meeting people and working with a team, we love what we do and we love coffee.

"We have got passion, lots of energy and a really supportive team

"Our approach is to be flexible and try to make everyone happy. We want our team and our customers to come back for a great coffee and service."
