More lane closures have been announced as the county council gets ready to move the new bridge into place at the A46 Stoneleigh Junction.
Having started in December 2020, the works will also see a new roundabout built at the site.
And as the £38million project nears the next major milestone, Warwickshire County Council has announced the following lane closures:
13-15 December 2022 – A46 Northbound reduced to one lane.
Specialist equipment to be delivered to allow for bridge deck move.
16-18 December 2022 – A46 reduced to one lane in each direction.
To enable the new A46 Bridge deck to be moved into place.
WCC says the new junction will reduce the regular delays and queueing traffic, improve road safety and ensure the junction can cope with more vehicles to cope with all the houses being built nearby.
If weather prevents work on the above days, it will be postponed until the first week in January.
Cllr Wallace Redford, portfolio holder for transport and highways, said: "These lane closures are essential in order to allow for delivery and installation of the bridge deck, which forms part of the Stoneleigh Junction Improvement Scheme.
"We would like to sincerely thank local residents for their continued patience with these essential developments to the junction, which forms part of this Council's commitment to ensuring that residents are supported through excellent transport infrastructure."
