In just over a week Warwickshire locals will head to the polls to vote in their new councillors for Warwickshire County Council.

All 57 wards at the local authority are up for grabs, with voting opening on Thursday 1 May.

Results will then be announced on Friday 2 May, including in all three Kenilworth wards.

We have asked each candidate why locals should trust them with their vote.

This is what the candidates for Cubbington and Leek Wootton said:

Becky Davidson - Green

I'm standing because I care about my local community and the issues affecting us.

I have a proven track record of sticking up for my residents' concerns and protecting our village identities against poorly planned developments.

By voting for me, you are ensuring local issues are solved at a local level - with you at the heart of the decision-making process.

I will always fight to ensure our residents are heard.

We need safer roads; fixing potholes, reducing speeding, creating safer pedestrian and cycle routes.

We also need to ensure new housing considers the infrastructure needs in the local villages.

Becky Davidson - Green

Bed Edwards - Liberal Democrats

Ben is running to be County Councillor for one reason: to help change things for the better.

Ben has always lived in the local area, spending the last 15 years in Baginton and Stoneleigh.

He understands the daily issues that we face as he faces them too.

He is passionate about protecting and enhancing the local services that families rely upon, safeguarding our villages and the local environment.

If elected, Ben will push for safer roads, better school transportation and development that works for us, not against us.

He will also ensure that lessons are learned from the infamous Bridge to Nowhere.

Bed Edwards - Liberal Democrats

Stephen Esslemont - Reform

Nub News has attempted to contact Stephen Esslemont for a statement.

Linda Hugl - Labour

I have lived in Leamington for just over six years now and love being here.

I am a scientist with training in biochemistry, immunology and drug discovery and have worked in the pharmaceutical and biotech industry for over 30 years, from the bench to the boardroom (of a very small biotech!).

These varied experiences make me comfortable with finances and planning, and, coupled with my determination to get things done, I feel I will be able to contribute effectively as a county councillor for our area.

Linda Hugl - Labour

Isabella Moore - Conservative

With over 30 years of business leadership and experience providing language services to exporters and a former local and national President of the Chamber of Commerce network, I have a proven record of working with government and building strong community relationships.

As a South Warwickshire local resident for 26 years, I understand the real issues facing semi-rural areas, especially transport, road safety, and the continual HS2 disruption.

Isabella Moore - Conservative

Wallace Redford - Independent

I have been a Warwickshire County Councillor in the Cubbington & Leek Wootton, Division for the past 12 years.

I have lived in the division for 40 years and understand all the local issues both in the past and present and have worked tirelessly to resolve and mitigate them, including, school transport, road signage, HS2 and the proposed gigafactory & investment zone at Coventry Airport.

Wallace Redford - Independent
