Man charged after offering undercover police drugs in Warwick park

A man has been charged after offering plain clothes police officers drugs in a Warwick park.
Officers patrolling St Nicholas Park said they were offered 'weed' and 'coke' by three young men steering a boat along the River Avon.
After waiting for the men to get back onto dry land, they the seized a quantity of cannabis and charged one of the men.
A police statement said: "Whilst we were walking along the river edge, three lads who were steering a boat down the River Avon shouted over asking if the plain clothed officers wanted any 'weed' or 'coke'.
"Now I don't know about you but its not something I'd recommend doing...
"Officers bided there time and waited on a bench and when the chaps came off the boat and back to shore they were quite surprised to realise that they had chosen the wrong people to offer the illegal substances too.
"We are continuing to use different approaches to target ASB and nuisance mopeds around Warwick, so please continue to report any concerns."
Police were actually in the park investigating off road bikes being illegally ridden.
