A local football club has been given permission to extend its clubhouse to provide more changing rooms.

The new facilities, at Ajax Park on Hampton Road, can now be built after planning permission was granted by Warwick District Council.

The application, submitted by Central Ajax Football Club, says the extention will provide changing rooms for junior and women's teams at the "growing" club.

The project will also see internal changes to the clubhouse for supporters and club members.

Central Ajax said the designs were in line with FA regulations and would not detract from the playing space at the site.

"The sizes created will provide a medium sized facility for a non-league football club, with the main area being proposed as a clubhouse facility and the rear proposed as changing and welfare facilities," the application said.

Approving the scheme, a report from WDC said: "The proposals are considered to have an acceptable impact on the landscape given the fact that views of the extension will be limited and it is to be contained within the existing pattern of development using matching materials."
