Local family launches Burmese-inspired shared dining experience in Warwick
By Nadia Sayed 24th May 2026
A local family is bringing the flavours of Burma to Warwick's food scene this summer.
Cabi's Supper Club, an intimate shared-table dining experience inspired by heritage, home cooking and family traditions is coming to Warwick in July.
Behind the club is Caroline Nevin, affectionately known by friends and family as 'Cabi,' whose Burmese roots and much-loved cooking inspired the concept.
The first club will take place at Love Bread & Co in Warwick on Saturday 11 July from 7pm, where guests will enjoy a three-course family-style menu served around large communal tables in a relaxed setting.
For the Nevin family, food has always been at the heart of family life.
"Our mum moved to the UK when she was very young after her family had to evacuate Burma during the war," explained Hannah Teale, one of Caroline's eight children!
"Growing up, we were always surrounded by Burmese culture and especially the food, but we completely took it for granted because it was just normal to us."
Only later did Hannah and her siblings realise how unique the cuisine was, and how difficult it could be to find authentic Burmese food locally.

Hannah continued: "It was when our partners and husbands started trying the food and absolutely falling in love with it that we realised we'd been sitting on this really well-kept secret all these years.
"We used to joke that nobody was allowed the recipes unless they married into the family."
The family had long encouraged Caroline to share her cooking more widely, describing her as not only deeply connected to her heritage but also an exceptional cook who spent decades feeding a household of eight children.
"She's spent all of her life raising us, and if you can cook well for a family that big every single day, you can definitely cook for others!" Hannah laughed.

After some persuasion, the family finally convinced Caroline to take the leap this year, with the idea evolving into a supper club rather than a traditional restaurant or pop-up.
"We really wanted it to feel like how we grew up," Hannah added.
"Big tables, sharing food, lots of people together, that community atmosphere is such a huge part of Burmese family culture for us."
Unlike a standard restaurant setup, guests will be seated together at communal tables, even if attending in smaller groups, encouraging conversation and a shared experience centred around the food.
The menu will showcase some of the family's favourite Burmese dishes, beginning with a main course they believe newcomers to the cuisine will quickly fall in love with.
The event has already received a warm response from local residents after the family began sharing the journey on social media, with most tickets selling quickly following release.
With just a few tickets left, Hannah highlighted support from the local community, who know Caroline from her singing events at venues in and around Warwick, has been 'really loved to see.'

While the July event is currently a one-off, the family hope it will become a more regular fixture if the response continues.
"There are so many more dishes and recipes we'd love to share in future supper clubs," Hannah added.
Tickets for Cabi's Supper Club are available now via Facebook and Instagram.
