Local businesses are 'backbone of our towns' says Warwick's MP
By James Smith 3 hours ago
Matt Western, MP for Warwick and Leamington, marked Small Business Saturday last weekend with a range of visits to local businesses on Saturday 7 December, calling them the "backbone of our towns".
Small Business Saturday has been taking place in the UK since 2013 and is a campaign encouraging people to support small local businesses.
The local MP dropped in to a range of small businesses across the Warwick and Leamington constituency before highlighting all they offer on his social media pages.
On the importance of Small Business Saturday, Mr Western said: "We are so lucky in our towns to have a wide range of small businesses who offer so much.
"I'm proud to support them all year round and Small Business Saturday is a brilliant chance to highlight all our great small local businesses.
"Whether you're looking for somewhere for lunch, new trainers or some nails, our small businesses can provide that and more!
"These businesses give so much to our communities and our local economy. As they say, we must use them or lose them.
"So, this festive season, if you can, please do support some of our local small businesses and make the most of the fantastic offerings on our doorstep."
