A police helicopter was called during a police chase that went all the way from Warwick to Solihull.

Police eventually stopped the VW Golf using a stinger before having to chase the driver and passengers on foot.

Officers first spotted the vehicle in the early hours of Wednesday 30 July heading from Warwick towards Hatton.

After failing to stop the Golf was chased into Knowle where it was stung, with the helicopter needed to track the occupants as they ran away.

All four were arrested and the vehicle seized.

A Warwickshire Operational Patrol Unit statement said: "The driver decided he didn't want to stop for us and we pursued the vehicle into Knowle where it was successfully stung.

"The driver and occupants de camped near to Solihull Sixth Form College.

"After a short footchase and assistance from NPAS Police Helicopter all four occupants were arrested.

"We recovered the vehicle from the scene. Enquiries into the incident are ongoing."
