Prior approval has been given for a 30 metre-high 5G mast on the edge of Warwick.

Icon Tower Infrastructure Limited has been given the green light for the structure on land next to Barford Road, near the Longbridge roundabout.

The application to Warwick District Council showed multiple sites were considered, with this deemed the most suitable.

Barford, Sherbourne and Wasperton Joint Parish Council supported the application.

Signing off on the plans, a district council report said: "Having considered the siting and appearance of the mast, it is considered that it would not cause unacceptable harm to the character and appearance of the area and is therefore is acceptable.

"Officers consider that the applicant has successfully demonstrated that the proposed location of the mast apparatus is the one which results in the least visual harm to the surrounding area so far as practicable."
