Photographs, sent to Nub News by local resident Geoff Ousbey, have shown the work underway on 121 new houses being built in Warwick.

Full planning permission for the Montague Road estate was granted by Warwick District Council in January 2021.

The development, built on the former Warwickshire County Council store depot and Ridgeway School site, is being delivered by Crest Nicholson.

A previous scheme to build 148 houses was rejected due to the lack of parking provision.

And concerns were still raised about the approved plans, with the estate bordering the busy Coventry Road and being built within the Grand Union Canal's conservation area.

The major housing developer released the first batch of homes in November 2021.

Houses, which are being built around an ambulance station, will range from two to five beds, with prices starting at £310,000.

Crest Nicholson said the estate is: "Perfect for a variety of buyers, from those looking to take their first step onto the property ladder to growing families and downsizers."

Two fifths of the homes built on site will be designated as affordable homes.

The website says: "Situated within walking distance of the town centre, Montague Point is a development of two, three, four and five bedroom.

"The town provides many independent bars and restaurants just a stone's throw away from our property for sale in Warwick, as well as a large Tesco and various shops.

"This location is perfect for those who wish to live connected to a historic and bustling town with the peaceful benefits of country living, such as beautiful gardens, sprawling parks and the opportunity to walk along the canal and River Avon.

"Our brand new development of well-designed contemporary housing has something to offer for anyone looking for new homes in Warwickshire. Whether you are a first time buyer or a family, you can benefit from our spacious bright living spaces and high quality finished rooms."
