A planning application has been submitted for a closed Warwick venue.

Coventry General Charities has applied for planning permission to change 74 Smith Street from a restaurant to a bar.

The unit was previously Blue Note Bar and before that Robbie's Restaurant.

The application to Warwick District Council wants to formally change the use of the 15th century building to "operate as a small bar".

Plans state there will be no internal or external changes as part of the works.

"This ensures full preservation of the building's special architectural and historic interest," the application said.

It added: "The building will operate as a small bar, in keeping with the historic commercial character of Smith Street."

The unit is currently on the market with local agents Loveitts for £1,167 per month.
