Free seven-day passes to St Nicholas Park Leisure Centre are available to residents tracking their active travel usage as part of a local challenge.

The Choose How You Move in Warwick District challenge runs until Monday, August 8 and is completely free to join.

Launched by Warwick District Council the scheme aims to encourage participants to get active and choose sustainable forms of travel.

Residents earn 'BetterPoints' for each journey they make.

These can be converted into high street vouchers and now for a free seven-day pass at one of Everyone Active's local leisure centres.

Cllr Alan Rhead, cabinet member for climate change, said: "Choosing active and sustainable travel not only benefits the air quality in the district, it's also a great boost to your health and fitness.

"This latest incentive gives you the chance to experience the first-class leisure facilities at Newbold Comyn and St Nicholas Park so if you're looking to stay active over the next few months, make sure you're tracking your travel and earning those points.

"I would like to thank Everyone Active for their contribution which hopefully will encourage more of our residents to participate in the Choose How You Move challenge."

Gareth Wagg, Everyone Active contract manager said: "This is a fantastic initiative, not only working to encourage the local community to actively contribute to reducing the carbon footprint of their local area, but also giving them an opportunity to get active through our offer of the free seven-day leisure centre pass.

"Our mission to encourage everyone to participate in 30 minutes of moderate physical activity, five times a week, so whether that be through utilising the gym, swim and group fitness classes at our sites, walking or cycling to destinations instead of driving, or both – we're all for it and delighted to be involved."
