Four men arrested after gun fired in Warwick street
Four men have been arrested after a gun was reportedly fired in Warwick last night (February 7).
At 10.30pm armed officers were called to a disturbance in Whitman Way where they recovered a firearm and cocaine.
Nobody was injured during the incident but two men from Warwick and two from Leamington were arrested.
Ch Insp Faz Chishty, local policing commander for South Warwickshire, said: "This was a particularly concerning incident and not something we will tolerate in our communities. Fortunately, nobody was injured.
"Armed police were quickly on the scene to deal with the situation and identify those involved. At this time, we believe we have identified all the people involved and that they were known to each other.
"There will be an increased policing presence in the area over the next few days to provide reassurance to our communities and I urge anyone with any concerns or information to speak to an officer."
- A 20-year-old man from Warwick was arrested on suspicion of possession of a firearm and possession of class A drugs.
- A 24-year-old man from Warwick was arrested on suspicion of possession of a firearm.
- A 19-year-old man from Leamington was arrested on suspicion of possession of a firearm.
- A 21-year-old man from Leamington was arrested on suspicion of possession of a firearm and affray.
Police are keen to speak to anyone who witnessed the incident or with information that could help with their enquiries.
They are particularly keen to hear from anyone with mobile phone, dash cam or door cam footage from the area around the time of the incident.
