Former Henley chip shop still on the market after £170k price cut
A closed Henley-in-Arden fish and chip shop is still on the market, months after £170,000 was slashed off the asking price.
The former Sea Spray chippy on High Street is currently being marketed by property agent The Online Property Agency, and was originally put up for sale with a guide price of £999,999.
But at the end of December the asking price for the business, which has been closed since May, was brought down to £820,000.
The three-storey building has two floors of accommodation above the business, including two bedrooms, kitchen, bathroom and a lounge. This as well as a large garden to the rear.
The listing says: "The OPA are pleased to present this exciting and rare opportunity to acquire this three storey commercial property formerly trading as a fish and chip shop.
"This stunning town centre listed building boasts circa 1882 Sqft commercial space to the ground floor including shop front trading area, store rooms, kitchen area, bathroom, two walk-in freezers and door leading to back garden.
"The upper floor accommodation is accessed from the rear to spacious office to first floor (previously lounge), kitchen, stairs leading to second floor."
Firefighters were called to the town centre business in May, with four fire engines needed to help put out a blaze at the shop.
The business then posted on social media after the incident to "apologies for inconvenience caused" and to explain the fire started in the air ventilation system.
The business promised to "reopen soon," but ultimately the owners decided instead to sell.
