Flood alert still in place for Warwick

A flood alert remains in place for the River Avon in Warwick.

But the Environment Agency has removed the warning in for Gog Brook which was put in place at 6.30pm on Tuesday (October 8).

The alert for the Avon said: "River levels are rising at the Bidford and Stratford river gauges as a result of heavy rainfall overnight.

"Consequently, the risk of flooding remains. We expect flooding to affect low-lying land and roads adjacent to the River Avon between Rugby and Bidford including Warwick, Stratford upon Avon, caravan parks and farmland.

"Further rainfall is forecast throughout today.

"We are closely monitoring the situation.

"Our incident response staff are actively checking river levels and the weather forecast. Please plan driving routes to avoid low lying roads near rivers, which may be flooded and plan driving routes to avoid low lying roads near rivers, which may be flooded."
