Firefighters called to Warwick blaze as smoke drifts across A46

Fire crews were called to a blaze at an industrial building in Warwick earlier this evening (September 28).

Warwickshire Fire and Rescue Service tackled the fire at a unit on Wedgnock Lane.

Five fire engines were called to the scene, with residents first warned of the incident at around 5.40pm.

"The incident is close to the A46 and smoke is drifting across sections of the carriageway," a service spokesperson said at the time.

"Please drive with care, follow any traffic management measures in place, and be mindful of reduced visibility in the area."
