Several Warwick eateries have been shortlisted as part of the Master Chef Promotions Business Hospitality & Excellence Awards 2025, which were revealed at an event in Coventry on Monday (11 August), ahead of the winners being announced at a glitzy ceremony held in the Midlands later this month.

Restaurants, bars, takeaways and hotels from across the country are among hospitality businesses unveiled as finalists in a national awards programme that returns this month.

First launched in 2015, the Master Chef Promotions Awards recognise excellence in hospitality businesses across the country, giving them the opportunity to showcase their talent and dedication to the industry.

The awards have returned this year after a brief hiatus thanks to popular demand, attracting hundreds of entries from across the UK, many serving different cuisines or presenting different styles of offering.

A team of judges have now whittled each of the categories - which include regional restaurant of the year categories, as well as fine dining, casual dining, newcomer and takeaway of the year, plus other categories recognising franchises, hotels and banqueting halls - to three finalists.

This year's shortlists include Castle Balti, St John's, a finalist in the category for Restaurant of the Year, Warwickshire and Mexicanos Tapas & Cocktails on Jury Street under Newcomer of the Year.

Industry veteran Professor Dr Rois Ali, Chairman and CEO of Master Chef Promotions, said: "We're delighted to announce the shortlist for the Master Chef Promotions Business Hospitality & Excellence Awards 2025.

"We were thrilled to see so many entries from the length and breadth of the country, showcasing so many different hospitality businesses.

"Despite a few years' break, these awards are a highlight in the culinary world, providing a platform to celebrate the remarkable achievements of those in our hospitality industry.

"Our mission is to elevate the food industry through innovation and recognition among chefs and professionals - especially during what is currently a challenging time."

The final shortlist features venues from across the UK, creating truly national awards.

A Recognition Award was also announced as part of the list.

Three finalists have been named for each of the awards' 22 categories, with the winners set to be revealed at an event, expo and gala dinner at the Hilton Birmingham Metropole on Wednesday, 27 August.

The glitzy evening will bring together over 500 distinguished guests, including industry leaders and celebrities, and will feature a drinks reception, formal five-course banquet and keynote speeches from esteemed speakers, as well as raising funds for local community initiatives and charities.
