Extension approved for Warwick primary school hall
By James Smith 14th May 2026
Council planners have given the go-ahead for a small extension at a Warwick primary school.
Warwick District Council has signed off on the plans for Coten End Primary School meaning an extension can be built on the end of the existing sports hall to provide a storage room covering 30 square metres.
Stowe Valley Academy Trust has been allowed to complete the works under 'permitted development', meaning a full planning application is not needed.
Signing off on the plans, a council report said: "The proposed single-storey brick extension to the existing structure, along with an associated hardstanding pathway, would be considered to satisfy all of the above criteria and to constitute permitted development."
The extra room will add less than 25 per cent extra floor space and would not be taller than six metres high.
A new path would be created around the edge of the hall.
"The proposal consists of the construction of a single storey brick extension to the existing structure, along with an associated hardstanding," the submission to Warwick District Council said.
