A Lowsonford pub is preparing to welcome in the summer holidays with a host of special activity days throughout August.

The award-winning Fleur de Lys, is partnering with local businesses for the special family events, including painting, nature sessions and even an animal petting zoo.

Saturday 8 August, offers the chance to get hands on with art courtesy of Crazy Kiln Pottery. Little artists will be able to choose between painting a mug, plate, bowl or a seasonal character/animal figure.

Afterwards, the creations will be taken back to Crazy Kiln's Kenilworth studio for glazing and firing, ready for collection from The Fleur De Lys around two weeks after the event.

The event runs between 10.30 to 11.30am and costs £19.

On Saturday 15 August , youngsters are being invited to step into the world of colour, creativity and imagination in a hands-on nature craft session, led by Nature Makers.

Owner Emma Woodhouse said: "We're proving that pubs are fun for all the family this summer holiday! With two young children of our own, we understand that families are looking for activities to add to the diary and hopefully our range of Summer Camp workshops will light up the imaginations of even the most rambunctious kids.

"We're so excited to have curated a selection of truly brilliant local practitioners to bring their magic to the Fleur De Lys for summer 2026. And of course, with an acre of beer garden and two playgrounds to enjoy, it just makes sense to stick around for lunch and one of our famous pies afterwards!"

Crafters can expect to take home with them a pencil case printed with hammered flowers; a shell or stone painted with rich acrylic colours; a nature wand and leafy crown decorated with flowers, ribbons, fabric scraps and woodland finds; a sunflower print on card and a nature imprint on clay magnet.

The event runs between 10.30 to 11.30am and costs £15.

Attention turns to the animal kind on Saturday, August 22 with the arrival of Foxglove Meadows to the Fleur gardens.

In this fun interactive animal experience children will have the chance to meet and learn all about a selection of small animals, from rabbits and guinea pigs to ferrets, pygmy hedgehog, tortoise and even a giant snail! The workshop runs between 10.30am-11.30am and costs £15.

On Saturday, August 29, The Creativity Mindset, in Rugby, will be leading a one-hour children's creative workshop at The Fleur, in which they'll be encouraged to use their imagination and enjoy playing with artworks.

This gentle session runs between 10.30-11.30am and is designed offer a calm playful hour for children before the return to school. Cost £15.

All workshops include squash and biscuits throughout.

The Fleur De Lys is a 15th Century inn famous for award-winning pies, nestled in the picturesque village of Lowsonford on the banks of the Stratford Canal between winding roads which used to be part of The Forest of Arden. The garden boasts an acre of land and is also popular as a stop-off for canal users.
