Warwick Castle's new 60-bed hotel is set to open this summer, owner Merlin has confirmed.

Planning permission was granted for the controversial development in May 2022, despite over 100 objections being made.

The hotel, which is being built on some of the Stratford Road Car Park, is expected to open July 22, with overnight stays starting at £159.

The development is said to have been modelled on the existing Knight's Village, with each room inspired by the Wars of the Roses for the decor.

Liam Bartlett, general manager at Warwick Castle said: "We are incredibly proud to announce that we will be opening the doors of the Warwick Castle Hotel to the public this July.

"Our brand new hotel immerses guests in Warwick's rich history whilst also delivering modern luxuries to make the experience even more special.

"Our new hotel is also fantastic news for the local visitor economy, ensuring a high-quality offering for overnight visitors to showcase everything that this town has to offer."

Guests will also be able to venture through a treetop walkway to the Knight's Village, where they'll be entertained in a medieval banquet hall.

Warwick Castle has invested £16.4million into the hotel development, with an additional 1,000 trees set to be planted in the castle grounds.
