Council conference and training centre in Warwick could become family health centre

A council-owned building in Warwick which has been on the market for two years could be turned into a chiropractic and family health centre.
Kenilworth Chiropractic Clinic has applied for the change of use at Northgate House on Northgate in the town centre.
The building has been for sale since 2024, with Warwickshire County Council trying to shift the former training and conference centre.
The planning application to Warwick District Council said: "The provision of a town centre chiropractic and family health centre will be a community asset.
"There are numerous other health clinics, doctors surgeries, pharmacies and dental surgeries in the vicinity and the provision of chiropractic care, with specialist provision for children with physical disabilities and the family health centre, will enhance the local healthcare provision.
"The hub of healthcare facilities in the area will be improved by the provision of chiropractic care, the family health centre and specialist services for children with disabilities.
"The conservation area is not harmed by the proposed access road and car parking area, indeed the tidying up of the existing rear wall and turn in from Cape Road will improve the area.
"The provision of chiropractic care will provide significant health and safety benefits for locals and visitors alike."
If the application is approved, the former access to Cape Road would be reinstated, and a small car park with six off-street parking spaces created.
This as well as some footpaths and stairs to the car park.
The building itself would not be altered as part of the application.
