Council bids to improve safety around Warwick primary school
By James Smith 15th Apr 2026
Plans to improve safety around a Warwick primary school by putting waiting restrictions on local roads are being considered by Warwickshire County Council.
The local authority is looking to make the changes on Woodloes Avenue South and Deansway around Woodloes Primary School.
A council notice said: "Woodloes Avenue South is a residential street located within the Woodloes Park area of Warwick where Woodloes Primary School is based.
"Excessive levels of parking along Woodloes Avenue South result in blind spots and vehicles travelling around bends and past junctions on the wrong side of the road.
"Proposals are to introduce sections of road with no or limited parking in order to allow free flow of traffic and improved visibility in an area with high levels of pedestrian and cycle travel."
Residents have until May 5 to share their opinions on the scheme.
The report continued: "Restricting parking in Woodloes Avenue and Deansway aids traffic flow into and out of the residential estate; dispersing the high concentration of demand for parking across a wider area reduces conflict points between motorists and pedestrians, potentially with reduced intervisibility."
