Council approves expanding 20mph speed zone in Warwick

The county council has signed off on plans to extend the 20mph speed limit area across a number of residential streets in Warwick.

Having already held a public consultation on the scheme, Warwickshire County Council has now signed off on the changes.

Plans show the reduced speed limit will be introduced along Shakespeare Avenue, Browning Avenue, Milton Avenue, Burns Avenue, Wordsworth Avenue, Goldsmith Avenue and Hampton Road.

Coming into effect today (May 28), the new speed limit will "help improve the environment by reducing the risk of conflict between vehicular traffic, pedestrians and other road users".

The local authority's notice also said the scheme will improve safety for pedestrians and drivers.
