Priory Pools Community Centre (PPCC) is inviting the local community to join together on 29 March in Market Square, Warwick, to celebrate a milestone in its fundraising.

Having already been granted planning permission, PPCC needs to raise £2 million to build a new community centre in an overlooked area of Warwick; and have now raised over half of its funding target.

PPCC is inviting local residents to join in celebrating this achievement at a Saturday market with a difference, kindly sponsored by 'Moore & Tibbits' Solicitors.

Live music will be running from 10am through to 3pm, with acts including 'Sambassadors of Groove', Spa Brass, Rock Choir, Plum Jerkin Morris Dancers, Spakulele and a teen band from 'Top of the Rock Tuition' and there will be loads of extra stalls and activities.

Janette Eslick, lead fundraiser for the project, emphasised the importance of everyone in the local community coming together: "We hope that everyone in Warwick will want to play their part to help raise the final funds for this exciting, once-in-a-generation project.

"We have launched an online raffle with some amazing star prizes and also a new 'Priory Pools Lottery' where for just £1 a month you can have the chance to win £50 or more!

"Just check out our website to grab your tickets.

"Please come along to our launch to have some fun at our stalls, enjoy the music and chat to us about how you can get involved!

"A big thank you to Moore and Tibbits Solicitors for sponsoring this event too!"

Families can enjoy games, an Easter trail, face painting, have a go on an electric drum kit; as well as explore the fire engine and 4WD ambulance that will be on site.

The 'Thrive Bus' will also be parked up by the Town Hall and will be offering a nail bar, a PS5, nintendo switch and space for tabletop games.

Local community groups are running extra stalls; where you can find out more about the project, local services and have some fun whilst raising money. St Mary's Immaculate School and Warwick Recycles will be selling gifts and plants for Mother's Day (the following day).

During the afternoon (1-3pm), St Mary's Church will be offering hot drinks and cakes, alongside some children's crafts: make a Mother's Day card or decorate a pot and plant a bulb for a Mother's Day present.

"We are thrilled to support the Priory Pools Community Centre and its mission to create a welcoming environment for everyone in the area," said Christopher Houghton, Senior Partner of Moore and Tibbits.

"As a firm, we understand the importance of community engagement and the positive impact local initiatives can have on the well-being of individuals and families.

"This sponsorship aligns with our core values and commitment to making a meaningful difference in the communities we serve."

Since 2007 the Packmores community has received community support services from a repurposed laundry space at Sussex Court Flats.

But planning permission has now been signed off for the new site.

Located on the edge of Priory Park, the new centre will feature a large multi-purpose hall, meeting rooms, interview spaces, and a community café. It will replace the outdated Packmores Centre at Sussex Court, which no longer meets the needs of the local population.
