Child left with 'serious injuries' after being hit by car in Warwick

Police are appealing for witnesses after a seven-year-old child was injured in a crash in Warwick.

At around 4.10pm on Friday (14 February), the driver of a VW Golf reportedly struck the child, leaving them with serious injuries.

The collision happened on a pedestrian crossing on Emscote Road, close to the junction of Broad Street.

"We're asking for anyone who saw a collision which saw a child injured in Warwick on Friday afternoon (14 February) to get in touch with us," a Warwickshire Police statement said.

"The driver of the Golf stopped at the scene and is helping with our enquiries.

"Some people have already come forward - but we're now asking for witnesses who haven't yet spoken to us to get in touch.
