The case against a Warwickshire Police officer charged with causing actual bodily harm has been dropped.

PC Corey Smith was alleged to have assaulted a man after arresting him in Bourton-on-Dunsmore in May 2021.

However, the case was dropped at Warwick Crown Court last week after the defence made a successful application to dismiss the case.

Warwickshire Police said a misconduct investigation by the force's professional standards department will continue.
