Bookings are now being taken at a popular Henley-in-Arden pub as it gets set to reopen next month.

The Black Swan will welcome guests once again on Tuesday 8 August, under the new ownership of Heartwood Inns (formerly The White Brasserie Company).

Heartwood took over at the High Street eatery in March and has since been completely refurbishing the interior.

The company has restored the pub's Tudor-fronted building, and given a makeover to the inside, while also retaining many of its original features, including a large inglenook fireplace, wooden floors and snugs.

The inn will have 120 restaurant seats, 60 seats in the bar and a 100-seat garden. It will benefit from a major extension and will create 60 jobs in the area - according to Heartwood.

A Heartwood spokesperson said: "From the traditional Tudor frontage, the wooden floors and the atmospheric low ceilings as you step inside, to the inglenook fireplace and cosy snugs, The Black Swan has bags of character.

"We've added a new oak-framed extension housing a bright, colourful and contemporary garden dining area that leads out onto a decking area surrounded by a picket fence and seasonal planters for the perfect dining al fresco moment."

The grade II listed inn will also include a dog friendly area with complimentary water and treats for canine guests.

And now the Black Swan is open for bookings through its new-look website.

The fresh, seasonal menu will include a twice-baked cheese soufflé with Coastal Cheddar sauce; Provençal lamb roulade with confit onion and herb stuffing and a fresh, zesty lemon tart with Normandy crème fraiche.

A Sunday roast will feature beef and lamb from Aubrey Allen, which supplies the Royal household, as well as unlimited Yorkshires, roast potatoes and gravy.

The menu will be accompanied by a range of draft beers, cask ales and a curated wine and cocktail list.

There will also be a children's menu.

"The Black Swan hopes to become the go to place for locals and visitors alike, with an abundance of independent boutiques, bookshops and antique shops nearby, providing a charming day out for all," the spokesperson added.

Details of the pub's launch event will be announced soon.
