'Bee Friendly Warwick' is organising a weekend of activities to celebrate 'World Bee Day' and launch their #Plant4Pollinators campaign.

The community group is inviting locals to a number of activities at both Hill Close Gardens and Guys Cliffe Walled Garden over the weekend of 18 and 19 May.

Bee Friendly Warwick will also be launching its #Plant4Pollinators campaign which is asking all local residents to plant at least one pollinator-friendly plant in 2024.

Lots of bee-friendly plants will be on sale, and volunteers hope people will sign up to get involved.

Bee Friendly Warwick will be hosting the event at Hill Close Gardens and you can drop in for lots of free children's activities including making a seed bomb or bee home, painting some rocks, going on a treasure trail or joining them on an 'Is it a Bee?' Safari.

Bee Friendly Kenilworth & Leamington will be hosting the event at Guys Cliffe Walled Gardens and will also be running a treasure trail, alongside face painting and storytime with the bees.

Children are welcome to come along in fancy dress!

There will also be a 'local traders' market at Hill Close with lots of hand-made crafts, gifts, and bee-themed products on sale.

The whole site will also be decorated with knitted bee-themed creations from the 'Wolly Wonders' knitting group who have also donated some amazing prizes for our raffle.

Raffle tickets cost just £1 on the day for a chance to win some great prizes donated by our 'market traders' plus a gintasting session from Warwickshire Gin.

"We are hoping lots of people will join us at our Big Bee Weekend, which we are excited to be running across two sites this year, both at Hill Close Gardens and Guys Cliffe Walled Garden," said Sara Lever, chair, Bee Friendly Warwick.

"We have different activities at each venue, so we hope people will drop into both sites over the weekend.

"Everyone is welcome to come along anytime from 11am-4pm to enjoy our free children's activities, browse our information stalls; buy some honey, gifts, or plants from our stalls, and enjoy the refreshments available throughout!"
