Parts of south Warwickshire are likely to feature in a BBC One documentary covering BBC Children in Need's 2022 Rickshaw Relay.

The fundraising challenge saw Matt Baker MBE and a team of five inspiring young people take on a relay-style ride over five days.

Day four (Thursday, October 20) saw Matt and 20-year-old Sanna Ahmad travel from Birmingham, taking a pit stop at Wren Hall, before finishing the day in the grounds of Kenilworth Castle.

The challenge will now be broadcast in an hour-long documentary, The Rickshaw Relay Rides Again, on BBC One on Tuesday 15 November at 8pm.

This one-off special, will not only share the team's stories but also celebrate the history of this much-loved BBC Children in Need staple, while at the same time raising money for the charity.

Matt Baker, who has ridden on the Rickshaw Challenge for the last 12 years, says: "We know it's a challenging year for everyone, but if you're able to donate, it would be greatly appreciated, and it will make a huge difference to the lives of children and young people all over the UK."

This year's event ended at Silverstone where members of the public were invited to come and cycle alongside the rickshaw and clock up as many miles around the world-famous racing track as possible.

A statement from Wren Hall said: "As you may know Matt Baker, young rickshaw rider Sanna and the whole Children in Need Rickshaw Relay crew made a pit stop here at Wren Hall on the 20 October.

"They were most appreciative of the hospitality and enjoyed some of our famous homemade cake!

"The crew were filming the event as part of a one-off Rickshaw Relay documentary which will be broadcast on BBC1 Tuesday 15 November at 8pm and so there’s a chance that Wren Hall will be featured on this programme!

"Do tune in and if we’re lucky we will not only have supported Children in Need but also have put Wren Hall on the map! 😊

"Fingers crossed we make the cut!"
