The latest update on the £38 million A46 Stoneleigh Island works has been released by Warwickshire County Council.
Having started in December 2020, the works will see a new roundabout, and bridge built at the site.
The 50mph speed limit remains on the main carriageway, with a 30mph limit in place on Stoneleigh Road.
Through the summer work has been focused on the new Westley and A46 bridges along with work to the new Dalehouse Lane roundabout, northbound off slip, as well as Stoneleigh Road east and west.
Towards the end of June the new northbound off slip was finished, surfaced and opened to traffic. This has allowed the workforce to start removing the old slip and to start getting the foundations in for the new street and traffic lights
Temporary road markings have been painted and will be in place until the entire slip road is completed and the permanent markings can be applied.
Steel diaphragm have been put in place for Westley bridge and the concrete abutments for the A46 bridge are nearing completion.
For the new roundabout the ground is being built up and will see the contaminated Himalayan Balsam soil buried to prevent the plant spreading.
And work has continued on the Dalehouse Lane realignment with the road sub base being put in place.
Throughout August, work will continue installing drainage near the new Dalehouse Lane roundabout along with kerbing and surfacing.
Further into the future, once the existing Stoneleigh Road has been decommissioned and traffic transferred onto the new network over Westley Bridge, the connection between the new Dalehouse Lane Link and new Dalehouse Lane Roundabout will be completed.
For the new A46 Bridge, once the shuttering and waterproofing has been applied to the west abutment, both sides will be at the same stage of construction and attention will turn to building up behind the abutments with earthworks.
